With a distinct understanding about the issues of the doctors and a keen sensitivity to their grievances, the Department of Medical education under Vinod Tawde, aimed at bridging the gap and developing lines of communication between the resident doctors, medical students and the Government.

The department actively worked to curb the commercialisation of Medical Education and established a strong governing body to aid the affordability of Medical Education to aspiring students and overall medical community. The core approach of the department was dedicating efforts and resources to the development of various super-speciality hospitals all across Maharashtra, extending the development of medical science to all sections of our social structure.

Security Concerns of Resident Doctors

After a few untoward incidents where the resident doctors of government hospitals were being manhandled by the relatives of the patients, Vinod Tawde, as the Minister for  Medical Education had pushed for increasing the security measures of the hospitals and the adjoining premises. The department ordered for installation of additional CCTV cameras and stricter adherence of Doctors Protection Act across all the Government Hospitals in the state.

Human Organ Transplantation Act

Intending to end the black marketing and standardise the methodology of human organ transplantation, the Department of Medical Education, under Vinod Tawde’s leadership, pushed forward the implementation of human organ transplantation act in the state. This act was aimed to replicate the act stated in the central government with some suggested improvement.

Permanent Jobs for Class ‘D’ employees

The Department of Medical Education sanctioned permanent employment for 774 class ‘D’ staff consisting of housekeeping staff and security personnel. This decision was appreciated as it had been pending for the last 15 years.

Homoeopathy Doctors to be trained in Pharmacology

To expand the outreach of Homeopathy in the rural areas, the Department of Medical Education, under Vinod Tawde’s leadership, had mandated the introduction of Pharmacology in the coursework of Homeopathy Education. This initiative was introduced to benefit rural populace by increasing the availability of medical resources for them.

Panchakarma in Government Medical Colleges

With the rising popularity of Panchakarma, the Department of Medical Education, under Vinod Tawde’s leadership, introduced coursework in Panchakarma in Ayurvedic Government Colleges, providing the aspirants to benefit from the newer developments in the field.
